Senators Give Oilers a Good One

Showed some life.

The Final:

Oilers 3, Senators 2

How It Happened:

The Senators grabbed an immediate lead on Evgenii Dadonov’s first-minute goal, but the Oilers scored their second a little ways into the second period and pulled away.

Any Fights?

Yeah, after Jujhar Khaira upended Josh Norris, Erik Gudbranson chased him down and beat him up, which got Gudbranson a ten-minute misconduct penalty. Impressive. Message sent.

Standings:

Slipped a little, but what are you gonna do?

Toronto: 38 points, 26 games played
Edmonton: 32 points, 27 games played
Winnipeg: 31 points, 24 games played
Montreal: 29 points, 24 games played
Vancouver: 26 points, 29 games played
Calgary: 25 points, 26 games played
YOUR BELOVED OTTAWA SENATORS: 19 points, 28 games played

Senators News:

Nothing big.

Senators Thoughts:

Second game of a back-to-back, on the road, against a team that whooped ‘em all the other times so far this year. One-goal game’s impressive in that context.

What’s Next:

Game 2 of the three-game set in Edmonton. Tomorrow (Wednesday) night.
