Remember Google Glass? It Still Exists!

That’s right, guys. Google Glass is still out there.

I hadn’t thought about it in a long while (and even when I used to think about it, it was usually because someone else brought it up), but a friend mentioned it yesterday, preceded by a “whatever happened to,” so I took a look.

Not only does Google Glass still exist, but Google seems to still be developing it further, based on the evidence that the most recent update came out in May.

They just aren’t directing it at consumers anymore for general use.

Instead, it’s being used by certain businesses (factories and healthcare facilities are the two most commonly cited when one—fittingly—googles all this) to do things like put procedural guides in front of employees, allow trainers to see what’s happening and offer instruction through trainees’ eyes, and empower employees to shoot lasers from their faces that incinerate enemies in the workplace (I made the last part up).

If you want to learn more, you can read what I read here. But the bottom line is that Google Glass still exists and will still probably never affect you.
