Recipe: NIT Stu’s Chipless Nachos

On Friday night, after a long evening at the rideshare factory, I came home and made myself dinner, deciding to document the process and share it with my Twitter followers:

Since then, I realized I should have included the recipe, in case anyone wants to make this at home. Here it is:

NIT Stu’s Chipless Nachos

Ingredients: Trader Joe’s® Fancy Shredded Mexican Style Cheese Blend
Other Necessities: Bowl, Microwave, Fork
Preparation Time: Three Minutes (at most)

Steps:

1. Pour as much cheese as you want to eat into a bowl.
2. Microwave the cheese-filled bowl for approximately 30 seconds. The time needed depends on the amount of cheese and how strong your microwave is, but you should be fine going with a minimum of 30 seconds provided you don’t have an exceptionally strong microwave (looking at you, Iran). You’ll know the cheese is ready when you can only see the faintest shape of a few of the original shredded pieces.
3. Remove the bowl from the microwave. Allow to cool for a minute.
4. Eat the cheese with a fork.

I’d imagine this meal is Atkins-approved, and it works well if you, like me, often buy corn chips that are a bit too wide and scratch the corners of your mouth. It’s high in protein (I think), and so easy even a kid could make it.

Enjoy!
