Questions Surrounding Today’s Beekeepers Game

Weber State has what I believe is a big game tonight. They play UC-Davis on the road.

UC-Davis, for those of you who didn’t try turning your blog into an FCS blog for a season, enjoy it, try to get Weber State to use two of your marketing ideas, not get that to happen, and then lose interest, was pretty good last year.

But this year, they’re 4-4. And while they’ve played a tough schedule (losses to Cal, North Dakota State, Montana, and North Dakota, the last of whom I don’t think is that good but I’m not positive here because, again, I haven’t been paying attention—update, just looked and they’re respectable), that’s dangerous territory for a playoff hopeful. UC-Davis needs a win. Weber State can deal a crushing blow to their conference foe’s hopes while simultaneously helping their own case for more home games in the playoff.

Here are some questions surrounding the game:

Is UC-Davis Good?

Again, we aren’t sure about this.

Is Weber State Good?

I think so, but yeah, haven’t really checked. Know their only losses were to FBS teams, but have they played anyone good? Ooh, that can be the next question.

Has Weber State Played Anyone?

Northern Iowa isn’t what they sometimes are. Well, they might be. Hard to say.

Who Was Weber?

And/or *what* was Weber?

Who Was Davis?

I know it’s a city. But where did it get that name? Any tie to Al Davis?

Is UC-Davis Conservative?

I associate ag schools with being relatively conservative. I associate the UC system with being liberal. This doesn’t change anything for me (let the colleges believe what they want), but I’m curious.

How Many People Know Weber State Exists?

It can’t be that many. But if they were named the Beekeepers…
