Joe Kelly will begin his rehab assignment in Rancho Cucamonga TONIGHT!
Less than 48 hours after Dave Roberts told the world his best pitcher won’t be back until after the All-Star Break, the Quakes announced Kelly will be pitching for them this evening.
What changed? Possibly nothing. It’s possible the Dodgers and/or Joe Kelly don’t want Joe Kelly to travel for his rehab outings, and this week marks the last time the Quakes will be home until July 19th. It’s also possible the Dodgers want Joe Kelly to complete multiple rehab outings, because he’ll have been out a full two months by the time he does come off the IL.
Still, great news for the faithful. At 6:30 Pacific Time, Joe Kelly will take a professional mound and throw gas past professional hitters. Time will tell us what this means for Joe Kelly Chaqueta Bobblehead Night.
