NIT Notes: Second Round, Part Two

What a day yesterday. The NIT, man—I tell ya.

In case you missed it, Arkansas gave Indiana a contest for the ages in front of a noisy crowd in Bloomington. Some are calling it one of the greatest moments in the history of Assembly Hall.

Well, Indiana will get another chance to show off what that crowd can do because they held off the Hogs and have moved just one win away from a trip to New York City.

Similarly advancing was Lipscomb, who went into Greensboro, took what they wanted, and headed home.

The Bisons will be watching with interest today as Harvard visits NC State, as they’ll either have to come charging back across the Smokies to visit Raleigh or hold down the fort in Nashville with Harvard coming to town.

What a tournament.

In other action this afternoon and evening, Clemson hosts a Wichita State team that just won’t quit (is it Gregg Marshall’s best coaching performance yet?). Texas hosts Xavier (yes, I will be there, and yes, I’m making more signs). TCU hosts Nebraska (can Johnny Trueblood will the Huskers to another game?).

If you couldn’t sleep last night, you’re not alone. Personally, I couldn’t get Paul Simon’s You Can Call Me Al out of my head, and when I tried listening to Graceland, that just got me more excited. Thankfully, milk exists, and I was able to calm myself. I hope you were able to do the same.

It’s a big day, NIT fans. See you on the other side.
