Georgetown has a lot to lose, walking into the Cintas Center tonight. The Hoyas are far from safe in their NIT quest, and a road victory, even over one of the more locked-in NIT teams at this point (it’s all relative—don’t get too comfortable, Xavier fans), would do some damage on the résumé.
Xavier, meanwhile, would like to tap the brakes on a strategic skid that’s pushed them into the thick of NIT-Land, but is threatening to send them off the ledge.
In other words, it’s a symbiotic night. Kind of boring, to be honest—at least by NIT standards, which are admittedly harsh given how scintillating our favorite tournament is. But at the same time, there’s still intrigue regarding the matchup. Mainly, which of these logo concepts ripped off the other?
