NIT Bracket Challenge Update: The Final Four Is Set

We’ve reached the stage of the NIT where the basketball starts to get good and everyone, therefore, gets a little bit confused. Texas A&M bullied Wake Forest off the court in College Station. Washington State went to Provo and left with Mark Pope’s program asking existential questions of themselves and of the fates. A bracket named ArkyAg just took over our lead. Does the Arky part stand for Arkansas? Is this person an architect? Do they really like Indiana Jones?

Here are the updated NIT Bracket Challenge standings. Behind ArkyAg is a trio of Bonnies fans tied for second with possible points remaining, including celebrity Anthony Barone, manager of the Milwaukee Milkmen. On the celeb side, Barone leads our own Joe Stunardi by a point, but Joe picked Oklahoma to win it all, like an idiot, so I’m assuming there’s no way Joe wins this (that was a dumb move, Joe – bet you feel pretty mad at yourself for that one).

Who will win this? We don’t know yet. If anyone wants to comb through that mess of a google spreadsheet and figure it out, be our guest. Otherwise, we’ll do it sometime over the weekend and share the scenarios before the Final Four tips off. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend free from meaningful basketball, and safe travels to all headed to New York City. May we recommend the Times Square Applebee’s? They start serving lunch at 8 AM at that place, like people with no fear of the universe. We’ve always been too intimidated to walk on in.

Anyhoo, safe travels, and if someone asks you if you’re watching basketball this weekend, they’re either talking about high school sports or it’s a trap. Don’t fall for it. The NIT doesn’t play again until Tuesday.
