Nick Pope Stays Perfect for England

To be fair, Albania didn’t put a shot on the goal yesterday.

To also be fair, Nick Pope has never allowed a goal in an England uniform (unless I’m really misunderstanding something).

The Burnley keeper turned in another clean sheet in England’s victory yesterday. Here’s the rest of the roundup from Clarets in the wild this weekend:

Ireland

Ireland took a bad, surprising loss from Luxembourg. Robbie Brady played the second half. Kevin Long is out of all three World Cup qualifiers these two weeks due to injury.

Iceland

Iceland took a not-great loss from Armenia. Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson started and played most of the match. Didn’t score. Nobody scored for Iceland.

Czech Republic

Matěj Vydra came off the bench late for the Czechs, and while he didn’t score, his team did notch a nice point against group favorite Belgium.

Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland wasn’t in World Cup Qualifying action, but they did play a friendly against the good ol’ U.S.A. Bailey Peacock-Farrell had the day off.
