Another NASCAR weekend is nearly upon us.
Here’s what to know:
No Trucks
Not this weekend. They’re on their way to Las Vegas. For a race. Not just to make some Cars knockoff where a bunch of stock car trucks tear it up on the Strip.
Xfinity: Saturday Afternoon
Green flag’s at 4:42 PM Eastern Time (allegedly). Homestead-Miami, just like the Cup Series. Race is on FS1.
Cup Series: Sunday
Green flag at 3:48 PM Eastern. Homestead-Miami. It’s one of the 1.5-milers, which tend to be on the boring side, but I had a dream last night (I’m not kidding) that after I blogged this, the race ended up being a thriller, so for whatever it’s worth. In happy things happening, Ryan Newman’s driving the Oscar Mayer 6 Car, and it has a big focus on hot dogs (I took the pictures from his Twitter page please nobody sue me):
