NASCAR’s All-Star Races, IndyCar in Detroit, F1 NOT in Canada: Weekend Schedule

They are doing the driving again. All kinds of it. Here’s the schedule:

Friday

WAIT! Just checked. Google has been telling me the Canadian Grand Prix is happening, but it’s not (note to self: stop using Google they did this to you with a Burnley match last September). I should’ve remembered that. I heard that previously. Woof. Ok give me a second here to recalibrate.

Friday

Nothing. Nothing today.

Saturday

NASCAR Truck Series: SpeedyCash.com 220
Where: Texas Motor Speedway (just north of Fort Worth, or technically in Fort Worth, or up by Denton I don’t fully remember I just know I pass it on my way from the Midwest to Austin if I come through the Metroplex but I *think* that it has a Fort Worth address and is nevertheless only a little bit south of the North Texas football stadium)
When: 1:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

IndyCar: Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Race 1
Where: Belle Isle (island in Detroit, and yes, evidently Detroit has islands, and yes, I think if a driver drove fast enough and figured out a ramp situation they could hop on over to Windsor and drive away through Canada)
When: 2:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBC

NASCAR Xfinity Series: Alsco Uniforms 250 Powered by Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen (oof, that name)
Where: Texas Motor Speedway (1.5 miles, a.k.a. boring)
When: 4:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

No previews for the Truck and Xfinity races, except to say that they are not All-Star Races. We’ll have the recaps from them in the Cup Series preview Sunday morning. IndyCar preview, perhaps with a better examination of the best place on the track to jump to Canada, tomorrow morning.

Also, no preview for the SRX thing because I didn’t know what it was until after this was posted, so we won’t be covering it for the moment, but that could change if it goes well enough. Keeping an eye on it.

Sunday

IndyCar: Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Race 2
Where: Belle Isle (Motor City, baby!)
When: 12:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBC

NASCAR Cup Series: All-Star Open
Where: Texas Motor Speedway
When: 6:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

NASCAR Cup Series: All-Star Race
Where: Texas Motor Speedway
When: 8:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: FS1

Previews on Sunday, which means I’m going to have to figure out the NASCAR All-Star format in the next 36 hours.
