Before yesterday’s race in Atlanta, Bubba Wallace tweeted out the following video. Wallace is currently the NASCAR Cup Series’ only black driver, and one of only eight historically.
Then, before engines were fired, NASCAR’s President (same job as the commissioner in the big four leagues, I believe) gave this address:
Within the race itself, there weren’t many dramatic moments or new twists to the storyline. Kevin Harvick won fairly comfortably, a reminder that even at 44, he’s at the top of his game and might be the car to beat.
