NASCAR at Kentucky: Much Faster Than Horses, But the Race Takes Longer

The NASCAR happens again today. The cars will drive fast. They will race against one another. Some cars will be happy. Some cars will be sad. Some cars will be angry. Such is the way with NASCAR.

The Kentucky Speedway has allegedly been fairly dusty these last few days as the minor leagues have raced, creating some frustration for drivers and—assuming fans like to see drivers spin out and walk away unscathed—exciting for fans so far. We hope it stays that way. Especially the unscathed part. Some (I) have asked whether the problem is that they are accidentally holding the races at a horse track. This would explain the dust. Nobody has yet answered my question. From what I can see on the videos, it’s a car track, but one can never be too sure, especially in the era of the deep fake.

Who’s the favorite today? Hard to say. I’m going to assume Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin, ‘cause they’ve been winning just about everything lately. I’m also going to assume there will be a rain delay, ‘cause that keeps happening. But again, who can say for sure?
