Mr. Darkside Has Struck Again, and This Time, It’s Regional

I will admit.

When Mr. Darkside mounted their assault on the 2000’s Bangers Bracket, I did not understand how much more they were capable of attacking.

It didn’t even cross my mind that they might be a ransomware gang capable of taking down an oil pipeline system.

And yet that seems to be what they’re up to this week.

I heard the name announced—DarkSide—and thought little of it. I did not connect the dots. Perhaps I’m still reeling from the effects their attack on the 2000’s Bangers Bracket had on my own psyche, or perhaps I was just a bit focused on other matters yesterday, but it wasn’t until friend-of-the-blog Chris reached out to point it out that it clicked (thanks, Chris). DarkSide. Mr. Darkside. One and the same, we must assume.

What does this mean for those suffering the effects of gas shortages on the East Coast right now? I won’t venture too much of a guess. But I would say that you all should take a break from listening to The Killers until this blows over. Don’t want to rile them up any more than they’ve already been riled.
