Meet South Bend Stu

The South Bend Cubs’ mascot is named Stu.

We probably should have talked about this before.

Since we didn’t, though, here’s Stu’s baseball card, from the South Bend Cubs:

Full Name: Stu D. Baker
Jersey #: 1
Twitter: @SBCubsStu
Birthplace: Four Winds Field
Eye Color: Cubbie Blue
Height: The Average Bear
Weight: Varies depending on how many nachos he’s consumed
Bats/Throws: Right-Paw/South Paw

Mascot Most Admired: Clark the Cub
Favorite Food: Philly Steak Nachos from Steakadelphia!
Favorite Song: Go Cubs Go!
Favorite Color: Cubbie Blue & Red
Hobbies: Cheering on the South Bend Cubs, dancing on the dugout, playing the drums

Other information about Stu, also gleaned from that link above, is that he is Swoop’s best friend (Swoop’s the old Silverhawks mascot, I believe, and I’m glad they’re friends but it would also be a good minor league baseball bit if the two mascots were always trying to kill each other), and that he likes to teach kids about the joys of reading, which is especially impressive because his eyes, as you may have guessed, are plastic:

It’s to be determined on whether we’ll ever get this Stu to write for The Barking Crow. Invite’s open, though, Mr. Baker.
