Well, well, well. Justin Tucker did it. Justin Tucker is our Corvid of the Week.
Tucker, as you may know, kicked a 66-yard field goal yesterday as time expired to give the Ravens (yay, Corvids!) a victory over the Lions (scary, not Corvids!) in Detroit. It looked like this (yes, yes, I know, I don’t think CBS Sports knows what opera is):
Tucker, as you may also know, is from Westlake, the obnoxiously self-important enclave carved out of Austin’s western hip. We don’t love Westlake (because of the obnoxious self-importance), but we do make exceptions, so for posterity’s sake, let’s spell those out.
We will excuse someone for being from Westlake if:
- That person defeats the Vikings in the 2018 NFC Championship Game and allows us to spend the next two weeks as an adoptive Eagles fan in Minneapolis.
- That person has a tragic origin story and plays hard.
- That person can sing classically.
- It serves our purposes professionally.
Tucker, in this case, checks two of the boxes, so he’s in the clear. Congratulations, Justin. Keep on doing big things for crow-kind.
