I know it looks pretty small when the guy with the Star Chart app (#NotAnAd) points it out to you. But it’s actually quite large. Bigger than your thumb. Bigger than this guy’s thumb.
That’s right, Jupiter’s circumference is about 273,000 miles. It’s about as voluminous (that means big) as 1,300 Earths. You could not fly around it in a day, I don’t think.
Anyway, just a little reminder that Jupiter’s out there, not that far away in the grand scheme of things (we can see it with our bare eyes, after all). And it’s freaking huge.
