Joe Kelly registered a blown save yesterday, and it’s not that big of a deal. His ERA only climbed to 5.29. His post-Joe Kelly Bobblehead Night ERA only climbed to 1.42. The Dodgers still lead the rest of the National League by half a dozen games or so.
It wasn’t ideal, of course. He came in with a one-run lead and two runners on base, with one away, and finished the inning trailing by two. He did give up two hard-hit balls, too—Bryce Harper’s single and J.T. Realmuto’s lineout. But those guys are good hitters, and Rhys Hoskins’ single (which did most of the damage) was a ground ball that just happened to find a hole.
Plus, our guy finished the inning with a strikeout.
No big deal at all.
