The Joe Kelly Playoff Tuneup™ continued last night, as he got a hit by pitch out of his system, making contact with Todd Frazier on a fastball in the eighth inning. He then struck out Juan Lagares before going on with his night.
Frazier ended up coming around to score. Which wasn’t really our guy’s fault, beyond the fact he left with a guy on first with two outs, but is why he ended up saddled with an earned run and the loss. His ERA’s still 4.65 on the year, though, and a strong 2.48 since his fateful bobblehead night, when everything changed.
We eagerly await October.
