You’re telling me Joe Kelly’s outing last night didn’t have you on the edge of your seat?
Yes, our guy was wild. Yes, he allowed a couple runs to score. But his team won, he was throwing fireballs, and his offspeed stuff was moving so much it looked like it was trying to punch a hole in the earth’s crust.
This is the magic of Joe Kelly. Even on nights when he doesn’t have it (and be honest, we all have nights where we just don’t have it), he makes things interesting. He throws hard. His pitches dance like high-libido dragonflies. He makes the game worth watching.
Of course, when the game’s on the line in October, he gets outs. But if it’s not on the line? Forget about outs. We’re looking for entertainment. And our hero’s outing last night was full of that.
