After yesterday’s one-batter, six-pitch, one-out (a dribbler on which he made a nice bare-handed play to get the out) appearance, Joe Kelly’s ERA is 4.73. His Post-Joe Kelly Bobblehead Night ERA is 1.45. He’s striking out a career-high portion of hitters, and walking batters with the lowest frequency since 2015, when he was a starter. On the team with the best ERA in baseball, Joe Kelly has the best ERA since June 13th (the date of Joe Kelly Bobblehead Night, and I set the minimum for innings at 13 for that sample).
Make of it what you will. But Joe Kelly is getting outs.
