Joe Kelly Came Through Last Night, as He So Often Does

There’s a biggest moment of every game, and last night in Los Angeles, it came in the top of the seventh. Two outs. Runner on first. Dodgers leading 1-0. Elias Díaz coming to the plate to pinch hit for the Rockies.

Enter Joe Kelly.

As you’ve assumed by now, Kelly struck Díaz out. Four pitches. Crucial performance. Dodgers won, now down to two games behind the Giants, Joe Kelly’s MVP stock rose. Standard stuff from the king. I guess one thing to note is that he topped out at only 97 mph, and he’d just had three days off, so keep an eye on his health, but if he is a little tired, just speaks that much more highly of his performance.
