A whole palace of crystals can’t stop these vibes.
Whom:
Burnley vs. Crystal Palace
What:
EPL match number 23 for the Clarets
Where:
The Palace. Which is evidently named Selhurst Park. (They’re a London team, which I knew and didn’t have to look up!)
When:
9:00 AM American Central Standard Time
How to Watch:
NBCSN
What’s at Stake:
The bottom half of the table is as follows:
11. Arsenal: 31 points, 23 games played
12. Southampton: 29 points, 22 games played
13. Crystal Palace: 29 points, 23 games played
14. Wolverhampton: 27 points, 23 games played
15. Brighton: 25 points, 23 games played
16. Newcastle: 25 points, 23 games played
17. Burnley: 23 points, 22 games played
18. Fulham: 15 points, 22 games played
19. West Brom: 12 points, 23 games played
20. Sheffield United: 11 points, 23 games played
So, a win by the Burnleys would push them ahead of Brighton and Newcastle, at least for a few hours (Brighton hosts Aston Villa later today, Newcastle goes to Chelsea on Monday), while a draw might gain them another point on Fulham, who’s the top squad in the relegation zone.
The Odds:
I’m seeing Burnley at +205 to win, Crystal Palace at +155, and a draw at +200. Which means something like a 31% chance Burnley wins and a 62% chance Burnley at least gets a point.
The Opponent:
Crystal Palace. Not all that good. Burnley beat ‘em in November at home—that was part of what got the team rolling. Was the first win of the EPL season.
Burnley News:
The women’s team is going to become fully professional, which is both exciting and an investment, which is in turn also exciting!
Josh Brownhill is active on the bench, as is Robbie Brady. Matěj Vydra is not active, which wasn’t announced previously. Chris Wood and Charlie Taylor are still out.
Bertie News:
Nothing.
