Joe Kelly threw another bullpen on Sunday, but he isn’t facing live hitters yet, which makes the belief that our hero won’t be around for Opening Day.
Unless…
There are two possibilities here.
The first is that Joe Kelly is going to be a surprise Opening Day starter, coming out of the dugout with new shoes that shoot flames out of the back, taking a shot of gasoline upon arrival to the mound, and mowing down whoever the Dodgers play that afternoon (evening?) with 81 straight strikes.
The second is that Joe Kelly really is still just building himself back up, and that he’ll be a little late to game action this year.
Guess we’ll find out.
