Joe was supposed to talk about this when he wrote about MLB expansion earlier this week, but he conveniently “forgot.” Well, I didn’t forget, Joe. The people need to know.
We would like it if all the MLB interleague play happened at the same times again, and if that time was in the summer, and if we all looked at it and said, “Whoa, those teams playing each other looks unnatural!” instead of shrugging our shoulders at the Reds playing the A’s today.
This will be more possible when there’s an even number of teams in each league again, and that’s why we’re tying it to MLB expansion. Or rather, that’s why we were going to tie it to MLB expansion, until Joe “forgot.” Do you think that guy wants to see the Giants playing the Rays all the time or something? What a perv.
But yes, interleague play was the greatest when it would happen for short stints during the summer and almost everyone was playing an interleague game. It felt special. Special things are good for baseball. Please send this to the folks in charge.
