I knew I liked Washington State a lot last year. They were unusually good. There were mustaches involved. They taught me they’d hidden a WSU in their logo.
But I gave all the credit, in my heart, to Mike Leach, and I’m now realizing that was probably wrong of me to do. Not morally wrong or anything. Just incorrect. Because Gardner Minshew was at least 30% of what was awesome about that team, and what made me sad when they lost the Apple Cup in the snow.
I mean, look at this guy:
He transferred in from somewhere in the Carolinas I’m not going to look up right now. He threw the ball around. He won games. And now he’s got a chance to do the same thing in Jacksonville.
Besides the transferring in from the Carolinas part.
Look at him again:
Now read this from The Ringer (also, credit to The Ringer for leading the way so far on Gardner Minshew NFL coverage).
Now get ready for the Gardner Minshew experience with me, because whether Minshew throws for 400 yards and 5 TD’s Sunday or gets absolutely rocked and replaced via a free agent or trade, it’s going to be an experience. The kind of experience we breathe for.
Welcome to our hearts, Gardner Minshew.
