Kris Bryant is returning to Chicago this weekend, and I forgot this would be happening.
There were so many trades going on, and I so badly wanted happy little reunions, that I noticed it alongside all the others right away on the day of the deadline. But then things moved on, and it sank in how the Cubs had needed to do what they did, and the Giants became more interesting as that-team-in-that-race-with-the-Dodgers than as the team that would carry Kris Bryant back to Wrigley Field for a weekend set in September, and, well, I forgot. There were so many trades. So many.
So…yeah. I don’t know. I think I’m going to feel kind of sad tomorrow. Hope he goes yard? But maybe on Saturday. Maybe off of Davies instead of Hendricks.
