I Don’t Need Night Mode in Excel

I updated one of my computers recently to Windows…what are we on now, 11? Whichever Windows it is, it’s the dark one. The Christopher Nolan-directed reboot, except with Microsoft Excel.

Night mode is popular on apps these days, and I understand the appeal conceptually: It’s easier on your eyes to look at something dark than it is to look at something bright. Especially at night. But—and maybe this is a sign of something wrong with my eyes and/or brain—is it not harder to see where the buttons are in night mode? Is it not akin to night, the time when all is dark outside? And this is not even  getting into the ghost thing.

Anyway, preference for day mode aside, I just don’t see why Microsoft Excel needs to have a night mode. This feels like a step too far. When you’re putting Twitter features into Excel, you’ve gone astray. Go try to cure a disease or something.
