I hope you aren’t currently experiencing a grease fire. I hope you didn’t just notice a grease fire on your stove and say, “Oh no! I better google how to put this out.” I guess in case you are, though, we need to get right to it.
According to The Internet™, you’re supposed to NOT DO these things:
- Try to extinguish it with water.
- Move the pan or pot.
According to The Internet™, you’re supposed to DO these things:
- Turn off the heat.
- Cover the pot or pan with a metal lid or some other smothering material.
- Throw some baking soda on there, but only if the fire is small. (Not gonna help you if it’s big.)
- Use a fire extinguisher if you’ve got one.
- Call 9-1-1 and get out of there.
