Give Us an October Rays/Jays Fight, Please

Yesterday, Alejandro Kirk accidentally left the Blue Jays’ gameplan for pitching to Rays hitters on the dirt beside home plate following a tag.

Kevin Kiermaier picked it up.

The Blue Jays are…mad?

This is an outrageously dumb thing to be angry over. Your catcher literally dropped the gameplan into an opponent’s lap. Non-controversy, Blue Jays are clearly in the wrong for doing anything but duct-taping that thing to Kirk’s wrist or, I don’t know, telling him to just know it and not bring it on the field with him?

But since it is a controversy…

We’ve had mayhem in Toronto in October before. Remember when that dude threw a beer can at Hyun Soo Kim? That was nuts! That was legitimate attempted assault! That was unquestionably bad. But. The Blue Jays making the ALDS and then starting a fight in, say, a Game 3 blowout (either direction, but preferably with Toronto in the lead because it would be more audacious) by drilling Kevin Kiermaier would be unquestionably good.

Chance for the city to redeem itself, some (I) would argue.
