Free Hoops, Episode 9: NIT Second Round Recap and Greg Peterson on Handicapping the NIT

Doctors say NIT hangovers aren’t real. They say, “What are you talking about? The NIT is not a drug!” This is why people don’t trust the medical profession nowadays. This, and Dr. Who, who to my knowledge never passed the MCAT.

If it took you a while to get going this morning after last night’s NIT thrillers, you’re not alone. At least one other person in this country is also experiencing NIT withdrawal. Thankfully, you can talk to that person. Almost. You can listen, and you can respond, but I’m not going to hear you or say anything back.

This week’s episode of Free Hoops is live, and it’s a day early. We’ll be back to our normal Tuesday schedule in two weeks, but as the NIT winds on, we’re going to keep dropping in episodes at the times that make sense. We’re on NIT time, friends.

We start the episode with a big ol’ NIT second round recap—talk about everything that happened and a look at the quarterfinals ahead. We close with an interview with Greg Peterson, host of Coast to Coast Hoops, a VSiN podcast. Greg is an absolute delight, a college basketball lover and a real nice guy. I’m honored Greg took the time to come on the show, and it was fun to talk about his handicapping work, specifically with the NIT and with banged-up Bradley.

Links in a moment. If your doctor keeps refusing to give you a note for work, get in touch and I’ll forge one for you. I’m not above a little forgery for the people.
