James Madison University is, by most accounts, on the rise. But while most athletic departments turn to basketball as their lottery ticket to the top of mid-majordom, JMU’s taken the long road. JMU is, right now, a football school. It takes a long time to get good at football.
On this week’s episode, we’re joined by Bennett Conlin, a JMU alum himself and one half of JMU Sports News, the best source of JMU sports news on the web. We get into what kind of school JMU is, how the FBS transition has put the Dukes on the map, and what went right in Harrisonburg while so many other athletic departments stagnate. We’ve got a Starting Five—Things Named After Presidents—which you won’t want to miss, and we close with some NIT talk. All in all? A fun, informative episode. At least, it was for me.
