Now, if you’ve turned the sound on, you may be disturbed by how many fans in Reno on this day were not supportive of an all-out brawl. I know I was disturbed, and the echoes of, “This is a baseball game! Get a hold of yourself!” will echo through my head for hours, and made me question my own support for The Biggest Little City in the World.
Still, Chafin was on the right side of things. He took some swings. And while I don’t think there’s any reason for the Cubs to fight the Pirates today, and I don’t think that’d be all that good of an idea, it’s that kind of attitude we, as a community, need to bring into this Sunday afternoon.
