Fargo Friday: The Joys of Smell

This is Fargo.

Fargo has something to say.

hello……*JUMP* *JUMP* *JUMP* *JUMP* *sit*

sorry.

i thought you might have a treat.

i have an extraordinary sniffer. this, along with getting to play with so many fun toys and being universally loved, is one of the best parts of being a dog. i can smell all sorts of things, and because there are very few smells i do not enjoy, my life is—if i understand humanity correctly—kind of like always being in a candle shop. poop? h*ck yeah. pee? h*ck yeah. flowers? not my favorite but if it is a strong smell they are certainly interesting. food? YES YES YES my favorite smell, that smell comes with a prize at the end if you are aggressive enough and nimble enough and the counter is not too high.

the one downside of having this extraordinary sniffer is that i have very large nostrils, and i like to sniff up close, so i occasionally inhale debris, which gives me the sneezes. i am told this is cute. it always provokes a laugh. oh golly heck, though, is it ever uncomfortable for the fargs. yikers. i would much prefer to not sneeze than to sneeze, if given the choice.

beyond that? no downside. smelling is great. smells are great. my favorite sense is my strongest sense, the fates have blessed me abundantly.

toodaloo! off to snore all afternoon until we go to the pet store for my butt wipes.

Fargo is a dog. She is our dog.
