Whoa! I didn’t realize IndyCar was in Indianapolis this weekend too. What a buzz. Just missing Formula 1, which probably doesn’t know Indianapolis exists. Snobs. (Ok I looked it up yeah they used to race in Indianapolis that makes sense.)
Friday
Nothing. Probably IndyCar qualifying, I’d assume, but no racing.
Saturday
IndyCar: Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix
Where: Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but the road course.
When: 12:30 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBCSN
NASCAR Xfinity Series: Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard
Where: It literally says it in the name. (Ok fine they’re doing the Indy Road Course it’s a road course weekend for everyone.)
When: 4:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBCSN
This feels like…Xfinity’s getting top billing? I’m a bit confused. I guess maybe it’s a logistical thing—easier to hand it over from IndyCar to NASCAR than to go back and forth. Anyway, we’ll have an IndyCar preview tomorrow morning and we’ll mention how the Xfinity race went when we preview the Cup Series race on Sunday.
Sunday
NASCAR Cup Series: Verizon 200 at the Brickyard
Where: Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course
When: 1:00 PM EDT
Broadcast: NBC
Hey, we got the real NBC! Network television! Take that, IndyCar. (is what I imagine NASCAR is saying—I of course am impartial)
