End the Lockout, We Bought Cubs Tickets

Well hey there. Glad you stopped by. We have a question for you. Yes, come in. No, you don’t have to close the door. We’re all friends here.

So, you started that lockout back in…was it December? It feels like it was the beginning of December. Maybe it was November? No, December sounds right. Because it was around the beginning of a month, right? And if it was the beginning of November, well, that’s when the World Series was ending. It couldn’t have been the beginning of November. That would’ve caused all sorts of problems.

Anyway, yes, you started that lockout. And we appreciate it. Interest in Major League Baseball seems to be at a rare low, and with the Cubs rebuilding, our buddy shot up that season ticket waiting list he put himself on back around the time he graduated high school, over a decade ago now. Combine that with the timing of him and his wife closing on a house, and suddenly, we were in business. I mean, somebody had to take advantage of his name being called, and we don’t have much, but we’ve got a little cash flow and we know how to work Stubhub if we need to (we’re going to need to, none of us live in Chicago).

Now, though, uhh, can you end this thing? We don’t need it anymore. We’ve got the tickets. Nineteenth row! Just a few sections past the visiting dugout! Could stay in the family for years. Generations, even. When this blog is dead and gone and Rob Manfred is alive and gone (we don’t want anyone to die, guys, we’re not Rob Manfred), people who look like us might still be attending Cubs games thanks to this lockout. But again: We’ve got the tickets. We don’t need the lockout to open them up. In fact, we could really use the lockout ending, because if it continues into the season, that’s fewer games for us to have tickets for! Can’t have tickets to a game that doesn’t exist. I don’t think. Hmm. I hope these things are real.

Alright, you can go now. We’ve said our piece. Let us know if you have any questions, or if there are any labor disputes we can take care of elsewhere after using them to our advantage. Happy we could help.
