News has emerged that Joe Kelly is going to be suspended for eight games, and will appeal this suspension.
Wowzers.
That’s a lot of games for not hurting anybody, changing the narrative from the Marlins outbreak to something fun, and making the Astros feel the shaming effects that were supposed to be their only punishment for the sign-stealing scandal.
Nuts.
But on the other hand, think of this like a designated survivor situation—if the Dodgers have an outbreak, Joe Kelly will be healthy and ready to beat teams single-handedly. Also, there’s no way this makes him *less* of a sympathetic figure. And maybe he’ll throw at Rob Manfred the next time he sees him.
