Dutch Grand Prix: That Was Cool

Ok, back in on Formula 1. That was cool.

1) I didn’t realize it had been so long since there was a Dutch Grand Prix, 2) It was fun conceptually to have the Dutch guy win the Dutch Grand Prix, 3) It was really fun in practice to see the Dutch guy win the Dutch Grand Prix:

Checking in on the standings, it looks like we’ve got just a three-point gap between Verstappen and Hamilton? That’s great. Twelve-point gap between Mercedes and Red Bull? Also great. Coming down to the wire! Lot left, though, I can see. I can read a schedule, guys. Don’t worry.

The silly season news has been busy, with Kimi Räikkönen announcing his impending retirement and Valtteri Bottas-to-Alfa Romeo announced. That leaves both spots on Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, and Alpine locked in, with Mercedes likely filling out its lineup with George Russell.

Beyond that…anything to report? I see we’re back in Italy next week. Feels like just yesterday we were slicing through Bologna (I got you there didn’t I bet you didn’t see that one coming).
