First of all, yes, there’s a player for Providence named David Duke. Secondly, yes, he posted the best picture of the season yesterday after beating Seton Hall in the final seconds of overtime with a three (something that helped both teams’ NIT odds):
Amazing.
Anyway, we’re going to go out on a limb and say this is the good David Duke, of the two. Just saying.
Other NIT notes:
- The fates did indeed want more respect on Northwestern’s name, as the Wildcats trounced Michigan State in Evanston behind Boo Buie’s thirty-point effort. Boo Buie? Yeah these guys better make it.
- Saint Louis salvaged some hope out of a trip to Minneapolis, falling to the Gophers by eight. Not a bad win for Pitinito, either.
- Xavier is floating away from us faster than an untied kayak. They’re headed towards a riptide. There’s a baby inside. This is tragic. Awful stuff. Damn you, Adam Kunkel. On the other side, though, welcome back, Marquette!
- The Cade Cunningham NIT buzz continues to grow, with OK State losing yesterday here in Austin.
- San Francisco got a necessary win over Grand Canyon in Las Vegas in what sounds like the most fun game of all time on the basis of proper nouns.
- Not a ton of NIT-relevant action going on tonight, but we do get a nice AAC Pack showdown as Tulsa goes to Memphis. Last year, Tulsa did this thing against Memphis where they beat them 80-40. It was hilarious. Keep an eye out for a similar prank today.
- Butler’s also on the floor, hosting Southern Illinois at Hinkle. Let me say it. We want SIU back relevant. How can you not like the Salukis?
