It’s been a while since we checked in on Tacko Fall’s chances of making an NBA roster.
Here’s what I think we know:
(BULLETS)
- Tacko Fall is scheduled to report to Boston Celtics camp when it opens on September 28th.
- Fall is currently signed on an Exhibit 10 deal, which carries stipulations that effectively mean the G League is an option for him even if the Celtics waive him.
- The Celtics have Max Strus and Tremont Waters signed to two-way deals, which are those contracts that allow teams to flex players between the G League and the NBA.
- The Celtics’ G League affiliate is the Maine Red Claws.
- The Celtics have 14 players right now on the roster, of a possible 15.
- Kaiser Gates has also been invited to camp with the Celtics.
Here’s what I think is also true, but am not certain enough about to say the word “know”:
- Teams only get to put two players on two-way contracts, meaning one of those isn’t an option for Fall.
- More players than Gates might be invited to the Celtics camp.
- Gates’ deal, I believe, is also an Exhibit 10, which doesn’t impact Fall but does mean there’s a scenario in which they both don’t make the NBA roster and we get a heartfelt buddy comedy about the two of them tearing up Maine come 2040, a buddy comedy in which I will hopefully get to play a supporting role as the pair’s grouchy landlord who tells them their bunk beds are a violation of the safety terms on their lease but doesn’t actually do anything about it.
And here’s why we’re boycotting NBA 2K:
Shoutout Grant Williams, you’re a real one.
