Graciously, of course.
Whom:
Burnley vs. Manchester City
What:
EPL match number 21 for the Clarets.
Where:
Turf Moor
When:
12:00 PM American Central Standard Time. Coming up fast.
How to Watch:
NBCSN!
(Maybe I shouldn’t get excited.)
What’s at Stake:
Theoretically, Burnley could hold onto 15th with a point or more. But, you know, Burnley hasn’t played all that well against Man City the last…three years. (Three years to the day since Burnley last got a point against the Cityzens.)
So really, Burnley’s just trying to hold off Brighton for 16th, and by “hold off Brighton” I mean hope Brighton loses to Liverpool, because they’re just a point behind the lads.
The Odds:
I’m seeing Burnley at +1400 to win, a draw at +600, and Man City at -500. So something like an 18% chance of getting a point? Not bad, actually.
The Opponent:
Man City. Bought not built (got ‘em).
Burnley News:
Ashley Barnes unavailable. Chris Wood unavailable. Robbie Brady unavailable. Josh Brownhill unavailable. Charlie Taylor unavailable. No transfer market moves.
But Sean Dyche had a great presser:
Bertie News:
Bertie evidently is teaching kids how to spell but the BBC won’t let me play the video because I’m in the United States (which I think means the BBC doesn’t want American kids to get too literate, which even further justifies the American Revolution). Happy he’s staying busy, at least.
