Burnley vs. Chelsea: Reasons for Optimism

Burnley plays Chelsea today, and while I know very little about the EPL, I know Chelsea’s name, which I take as a bad sign.

Here, though, are some reasons for hope:

Burnley Rocks

Burnley’s pretty darn cool. Can’t hurt.

Ashley Barnes is Back

Better to have your top scorer than to not have him.

Chelsea is a Girl’s Name

Nothing wrong with this, of course. But it might be affecting Chelsea’s players subconsciously due to societal norms and whatnot.

Burnley’s at Home

No place like home, especially when that home is Turf Moor.

Vibes

One unquestioned advantage for the Clarets is the vibe. It’s a positive one, at least from where I sit.

Night Game

I don’t know time zones very well, but I think the game might be at night since it hasn’t started yet and Europe is far away. Night games make the crowd rowdy, and it’s very possible at least one player on Chelsea is scared of the dark.

The Disco Inferno Is Hotter than Ever

While Leicester got us last week, it did so via VAR, further inflaming the already raging Disco Inferno. Burn, baby. Burnley.
