It’s Thursday, and on an unrelated note, we’re doing a Burnley roundup:
Sean Dyche
Sounds like our guy is 1) getting a raise and 2) getting extended for four years and I’m happy about this to hug someone and I care nowhere near as much about Burnley F.C. as many others do.
Internationals
Matěj Vydra and the Czech Republic play Scotland on Monday morning in what I believe to be Burnley’s lone Euros player’s first match in the tournament. 8:00 AM Texas Time. ESPN.
Partner Clubs
Llandudno, just fifteen minutes ago, announced the signing of a guy named Morgan Murray. Future Burnley star? We can only assume. Anyway, in addition to giving me the feeling of breaking news to you all, this has taught me that Llandudno goes by the Seasiders, which sounds lovely.
On a related note, I just found out for the third or fourth time that Ayr United is nicknamed the Honest Men. Kept forgetting that.
Portadown, who I think is nicknamed the Ports?, is having a tryout two weeks from today for players born between 2003 and 2006. So if you’re in town and born between those years, FYI.
The Cobh Ramblers women’s team drew with Lakewood in their opener. The men’s club plays UCD (University College Dublin) tomorrow, and not last Friday as I originally reported because I saw “Friday” and didn’t look at the date. Turns out last weekend was the midseason break.
Vacancies
Finally, just a note that Burnley posted job vacancies over the last few days for a groundskeeping role and a goalkeeping coaching role. 28 holidays a year (including bank holidays).
