Well, that could not have gone worse. Not only did Burnley disappoint the already-meager expectations by losing five-nil and looking like the Tigers in Kicking & Screaming prior to the addition of the Italians, but somebody flew a plane over the pitch before the match with a banner that read:
WHITE LIVES MATTER BURNLEY
Terrible. Obviously. Burnley released a statement shortly after the plane flew saying they’ll get to the bottom of who organized the racist stunt and ban those persons from Turf Moor for life, so we’ll see what comes of it, but really terrible stuff. Messed up. Not going to make any jokes. Going to do some research about whether Burnley has an especially racist history. Concerned.
