Burnley Is Going to Play More Footie Today

This might not be pretty.

Whom:

Burnley vs. Manchester City

What:

Carabao Cup, fourth round (round of 16)

Where:

Turf Moor

When:

1:00 PM American Central Daylight Time

How to Watch:

Looks like we, Stateside, need a VPN to make it appear you’re in England, and then I think you have to pay for the stream. You do you, friends.

What’s at Stake:

The Carabao/EFL/League Cup does come with a Europa League bid, but this is just to get to the quarterfinals. Long way from a realistic Europa League shot.

The Odds:

I’m seeing Burnley at +500 to advance, compared to -900 for Man City, so somewhere around a 15% chance Burnley advances, according to the market.

The Opponent:

Man City. They’re very good. Have won the League Cup three straight years. Sounds like they might be playing a lot of reserves but that shouldn’t make it all that easier for our lads.

Transfer Window News:

Sounds like James Tarkowski’s staying put. Burnley upped the price too high for Leicester (peasants).

Other News:

Tarkowski and Ashley Barnes are both back from injury today, so that’s a start!

Bertie News:

Nothing right now. I wonder if Bertie likes water buffaloes.
