Burnley in the (American) Morning

The last time Burnley played Arsenal, Burnley beat the Gunners, with the Gunners picking up a red card and generally being very sad. It was fun.

Whom:

Burnley vs. Arsenal

What:

EPL match number 28 for Burnley

Where:

Turf Moor

When:

6:30 AM American Central Standard Time

How to Watch:

NBCSN

What’s at Stake:

Burnley enters the day 15th in the table, three points ahead of both Brighton and Newcastle but with each holding a game in hand. The Clarets could climb to 14th with a win, but Southampton has a game in hand. The overarching goal is to widen the gap a bit between themselves and Fulham, who’s in the topmost relegation spot. That gap’s currently at six points, with Fulham and Burnley having played the same number of games.

Southampton visits Sheffield United later this morning (American morning).

Brighton hosts Leicester City this afternoon (American afternoon).

Newcastle goes to West Brom tomorrow morning (midday in Britain?).

Fulham visits Liverpool tomorrow (American tomorrow).

The Odds:

NBC says PointsBet says Arsenal’s at -159 to win, with Burnley at +425 and a draw at +290. So there’s a 35% or 40% chance Burnley can at least get a point.

Burnley News:

Ashley Barnes is out. Jack Cork is questionable. Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson and…Robbie Brady?…are evidently possible returners. Had thought we’d seen the last of Brady.
