It’s another Burnley day.
Whom:
Burnley vs. Liverpool
What:
EPL match number 37 of 38 on the year for the Clarets
Where:
Turf Moor, for the final time this campagin.
When:
2:15 PM American Central Daylight Time
How to Watch:
NBCSN! Feel familiar?
What’s at Stake:
For Burnley, some money and some pride. Win and they finish higher in the table than they would with a loss, presumably. Drawing, again, better than a loss. For Liverpool, though…
There are many scenarios in which Burnley beating or tying Liverpool keeps Liverpool out of the Champions League, which would be especially funny after that wild Alisson goal kept those hopes alive for the poolboys. Burnley beating Liverpool again would be quite the troll. The troll is the goal.
The Odds:
Last night I saw Burnley at +950 to win, -400 to lose, and +550 to draw, which would again make a win or even a tie absolutely hilarious.
Burnley News:
Nick Pope is still questionable, as far as we know, at the time this is published. Dale Stephens, Phil Bardsley, and Kevin Long all had surgery and are started towards recovering in time for next year. Robbie Brady is also out.
Most importantly (beyond Pope’s status, which is hugely important), Turf Moor’s welcoming some fans back in the building. Great day for all.
Bertie News:
I haven’t seen anything but hopefully he’s been cooking up some great hijinks these last fourteen months.
