Burnley Forever: No Europa League, Plenty of Adrenaline

For making-the-Europa-League purposes, a draw today was as good as a loss for Burnley. They’re toast. But man, was it fun to pull that one out of the hat.

Thanks to something that either was or was not a good handball call (I don’t know soccer so I won’t pass judgment), Chris Wood got a penalty kick in the sixth minute of stoppage time and buried it to pull a point out of his magic hat in what had looked to be a loss to Wolverhampton.

What a buzz.

Besides that, not a whole lot to note. Our lads are pretty firmly entrenched in the top half of the table. I don’t know if people care about that, but feels better than its alternative. Tottenham won and Arsenal upset Liverpool and again, Burnley really needed to win to have much hope of finishing seventh or better, so again, they’re toast for the Europa League, but still pretty fun. Hope the next season starts really fast and they don’t do a long transfer window. Look at me, using the phrase transfer window. Look at me, also not fully knowing what transfer window means because I just used it to mean offseason and that may be incorrect.

Two matches left. Burnley forever.
