Brace Yourselves: The Senators Are Closing In on Fifth Place

It is true.

Whom:

Senators vs. Montreal Canadiens

Where:

Ottawa

When:

6:00 PM Central Daylight Time

Television:

Nothing American.

The Odds:

Our guys are at +125 to win and -145 to lose. Small underdogs. A little terrier of the underdog world.

Senators News:

It turns out Josh Brown played through a broken foot in the third period on Monday, so he’s done for the year. Thomas Chabot’s injury isn’t said to be serious, but they’ll rest him the rest of the way as well.

In the race for sixth place, Vancouver lost again last night, to Edmonton, so the Senators are now up four points and Vancouver only has five games in hand. Vancouver’s off tonight but plays at Edmonton tomorrow and Saturday.

In the race for fifth place, Calgary has two games in hand but leads our guys by only two points, meaning the Sens could move into a technical tie with a win tonight and a Calgary loss at home against Winnipeg. Curious what will happen if Calgary and Vancouver are both eliminated from the playoffs but have games left. Will those be played? If not, is it points or point percentage that decides where the Senators land? I would imagine this has been covered and I should just google it. Maybe later.
