Bitcoin is back and we’re riding it to the moon.

Bitcoin is back in the headlines.

Well, I don’t know if that’s true across the board, but it’s in our headlines.

For those of you who didn’t listen to MilkTime, or those of you who did but don’t remember any specifics on my history with the most famous of cryptocurrencies (I’m not sure I gave any specifics, so you aren’t alone if you’re in the second boat), the long and short of it is that I own a little bit of the stuff. About a twelfth of a bitcoin. I bought it last summer with a friend (he also owns about a twelfth), watched the price bounce a couple times, then looked away when the price tanked to half of what we’d bought in at.

But over the last month and a half, Bitcoin has charged back, and as I write this it’s looking to break $8,000 for the first time since two weeks after we bought in, at which point I remember thinking, “Wow, it’s really easy to get rich.”

Turns out I was right.

Do I know why Bitcoin’s price has risen so much since March?

Nope.

Do I have a plan for when I’d sell?

I mean, yes, but emotions might change that plan.

Does that plan involve me getting rich?

Technically, no. Emotionally, yes.

Should I be doing the numbers stuff on this website instead of Joe?

Not all the time, but when it comes to Bitcoin, there’s only one number you need to know:

Buy.

That disclaimer newspapers use when writing about an industry they’re invested in: At the time this is originally published, NIT Stu legally owns .1554 Bitcoin and 88.00 Dogecoin, but he owes his friend half of each of those.
